Non-slip hangers are made so by the combination of a sturdy, well-made frame and a covering that provides a friction-based holding system. Today’s non-slip solutions include foam coverings or an epoxy applied to metal hangers.

While for many people, this daily occurrence is a minor annoyance, for people in wheelchair or for elderly people, picking up clothes can add to the danger in the home. Shirt hangers will have non-slip fabric on the slope of the shoulders, but no on the underside where it is not needed.
